I attended my first SWERK class 4 years ago and was short of breath after the first song. Between college and medical school, I hadn’t worked out regularly since training in classical Indian dance while in school! However I became hooked, and as my passion for SWERK grew, so too did my love of fitness. I have now taken different classes in various cities including pole, barre, various forms of HIIT, and weight training, and actually looks forward to the gym! In 2019, I got married, ran my first half marathon and started teaching SWERK at a new boutique fitness studio downtown, Space Three. SWERK allows me to dance like I’m at the club since I now go to bed by 11pm. I’m able to let loose, and it has instilled a sense of confidence in me that I never had before. SWERK is the embodiment of working out without feeling like you are working out. It leaves me feeling happy for the rest of the day, and that’s why I’m hooked. I had to get certified to teach so that SWERK can be a part of my life no matter where I live.
